The book covers the period between the second half of the 11^th and the beginning of the 13^th centuries, giving a profound historical, economic and cultural background of Georgia. Based on Georgian and foreign written sources, archaeological, ethnographic and numismatic material, the country’s development is studied profoundly, explaining the prerequisites of putting Georgia side by side with the most powerful states of the time.

Some of the material was already published earlier, but it is expanded in this publication. Being accompanied by an English resume, the book will be interesting for foreign readers as well.
