Articles on ‘The Ottoman Georgia’
In the second half of the 16th century the Ottoman Empire took over the Georgian historical province of Meskheti, including Tao, Klarjeti, Kola, Artaani, Samtskhe, Javakheti, Basiani, Achara and others. Solomon Aslanishvili-Bavreli devoted nearly fifty years researching the region, leaving rich material contributing to the study of the history of the Muslim Georgians.
The publication includes facts about the author’s life and work, as well as articles that appeared in the periodicals at various times, the materials kept in the National Archive of Manuscripts. Some articles are published for the first time.
