Modern Georgian Drama

The present selection of plays can hardly show the entire extent of modern Georgian drama, however it is the fifth in the series of similar publications (along with the books about German, Israeli and Iranian drama), which still gives our readers’ an opportunity to familiarize with the main tendencies of the last ten years.

 

The publication includes works by Tamar Bartaia, Lasha Bughadze, Davit Gabunia, Manana Doiashvili, Irakli Samsonadze, Irakli Solomanashvili, Tamaz Chiladze, Dato Turashvili and Bassa Janikashvili.

 

The idea of the collection belongs to Tamar Kiknavelidze, who is the author of the preface. The publication was supported by the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection.
