THE ISLAMIZATION OF GEORGIANS (ORAL ACCOUNTS)

The materials recorded by Zakaria Chichinadze (1853-1931) on the Islamization of Georgians were first published in 2004. That edition was based on several of Chichinadze’s books and newspaper articles.

 

This volume includes additional oral accounts collected by Chichinadze regarding the Islamization of Georgians, as well as information on the spread of Islam among neighboring North Caucasian peoples, including the Lezgins, Ingush, Ossetians, and Circassians.
