МУХАДЖИРСТВО АБХАЗОВ

In this Russian-language monograph, in the context of the Russian-Caucasian War, there’s examined strengthening of Russian ownership in Abkhazia in 1864 after the abolition of the last Georgian political unit – the Principality of Abkhazia by the tsarism, the 1866 uprising of the Abkhazians in order to restore the principality, its suppression, the colonization goals of Russia, the reasons for the migration of the Abkhazians in 1864, 1867 and 1877, as a result of which, first the upper part of the Kodori valley, and then the coast of Abkhazia were completely emptied. The work examines the process of emigration and the most important historical document – the list of emigrants, which is compiled in Russian.
