Mikheil Javakhishvili’s novel “Jako’s Dispossessed” is one of the most important examples of Georgian writing of the 20th century. In the way of its study, along with many other aspects, the issue of identifying the prototypes of the novel’s protagonists – Jako Jivashvili, Teimuraz Khevistavi and Margo Kaflanishvili – and their formation as artistic image-characters, which have been monographically studied for the first time in the presented work, is extremely noteworthy and relevant.
As a result of research a variety of prototypes of named characters of the novel and theis biographical data are presented, also the sources of inspiration and those creative impulses, which, after being transformed by literary imagination and artistic purpose, contributed to the birth of the protagonists of “Jako’s Dispossessed”, who and what, which persons, what facts and what events contribute to synthesis and the genesis of their final symbolic artistic images.
